Ros has a great post up at Assoluta Tranquillita. I’m a little torn about whether or not I agree with her assertion that Obama is not America. I say that because he was elected with 52% of the vote, which means he must represent a majority of Americans. The problem is that it isn’t just Obama that doesn’t represent America, but 52% of Americans who think we need to move from being a Republic to a Socialist State. Here’s a sample of her post:
The current administration globe trots with an olive branch (okay, is hard to hold anything in an unclenched fist, but you get the image!) for Russia, Iran, Germany, the EU, and the middle east, to prove that the old regime in America is OVER, to “set a new tone.†Meanwhile the America I know and love is being nurtured in the same way by her citizens that they have done since the Mayflower first arrived.
As I write this, folks in Kentucky are working together to overcome the disaster of the ice storms. Many without power for many days already, or even well water, are turning to their communities, their neighbours, to help each other. (And, according to one item I read, not a FEMA official in sight. Well, okay that was political. Mea culpa.) Fact is, when it comes down to survival, politics are meaningless, irrelevant. When the chips are down, Americans on every street in every community, in every state, just get on with things.

Thanks, CJ! And I can safely say that CF did NOT read the whole post. If they had, they would not be using it as a vehicle to display their never-ending BDS.
Too bad, but okay too, since most Americans who DID read it understood the point being made.

Point well taken. Although I’m not agreeing with the political rant behind it, the basic gist is that America is America regardless of who has the reins.

I remember America on Sept 12, to me that is the America I love. United and focused on self-preservation. We’re still the greatest nation on earth!
I don’t think 52% of American’s agree with what Obama represents, I think they agreed with the ideal he marketed during his campaign, now let’s see how much of that he meant and which Obama actual rises to the top.

A political campaign is basically a marketing campaign with an end date. Regardless of what Obama does, its still the greatest country on earth.
I encourage everyone to not let their faith in just one guy. We have hundreds of people in Federal and State and Local government that need to know they have a vibrant, concerned, understanding and occasionally p^*&*-off constituancy out there. Make yourself heard!
