I put that in quotations because there are no leaders in IVAW; just sheep. Kelly Dougherty, one of the founders of the subversive organization, is stepping down from the post she’s held for nearly three years. Ironically, the new executive director of IRAQ VETERANS Against the War is – get this – NOT an Iraq veteran! Go figure! At least he’ll fit in with most of the members of his organization, many of whom also fake their combat credibility.

The new IVAW executive director is a “man” named Alex Bacon. Like all good IVAW members, Alex is an AWOL former Coast Guardsman. Heaven forbid they get anyone with honor to be at the helm of such a prestigious organization like IVAW. Alex is also the creator of a coffee house outside Fort Lewis that caters to other yellow-bellied ass clowns like Ehran Watada who can’t hack military service and don’t understand the meaning of military service.

All this begs the question: what is driving Kelly away? The public line by IVAW is that she “wants to spend more time with her family” but the truth is that the organization is falling apart at the seams. It’s being taken over by truly subversive socialists and anarchists and has lost its focus. Many of its members – the ones I call “lost” – are questioning their direction as well as their involvement in an organization that has become less about the Iraq War and more about bigger government issues. They are hemorrhaging members left and right and kicking out others that don’t toe the line of their socialist, anti-military agenda.

The truth is that some people actually signed up with IVAW because they disagreed with the war in Iraq, but still loved their country and the military. IVAW doesn’t support that mindset. It demands that its members hate the military and oppose it at every possible turn. Those who publicly push against this are ostracized and eventually purged from the group. This change in leadership is proof of this mentality with the addition of Alex who openly encourages troops to disobey orders and refuse to deploy.

  1. There is nothing “subversive” about IVAW. IVAW is a result of poorly planned foriegn policies of the Bush administration. Had we never initiated the invasion and occupation of Iraq, IVAW would not have come into existence. Until all US is out of Iraq, we will oppose the occupation we had no business starting in the first place.

    Peace and Semper Fidelis…

    • JD, encouraging troops to disobey lawful orders is the very definition of subversion. Sorry, but you’re wrong. You guys are a joke, led by people who aren’t even “Iraq veterans”.

  2. Pretty fair commentary on a pretty lousy organization. I fall into that category of those soldiers with serious problems with the war in Iraq, but firmly in love with the military and our country. As my opinions on Iraq developed, I looked for a place to make my voice heard. I looked into IVAW for some time, but decided that these were not folks I could stand with. Soldiers breaking their commitments, frauds faking service, and lies about real soldiers whoserved honorably. The means do not justify any increasingly blurry end. I finally hooked up with IAVA; Paul Rieckhoff and I share a lot of politics, but more importantly we believe in taking care of soldiers.

    • And SGT Danger, I whole-heartedly support that opinion. I appreciate your understanding of the sacrifices of military service and the fact that we don’t get to decide when and where we’re sent. I actually speak to quite a few IVAW members that I support, but think they have simply gotten into something they didn’t even realize at the time. IVAW is not a veterans organization, but a front group for socialism, anarchy, and subversion. For their politics, IAVA is definitely a great place to be.

  3. The IVAW members who remain in IVAW are prostituting their service to the ISO members to lend them legitimacy. Is that why you served honorably?

  4. JD, it might help to understand military service before you prove CJ’s definition of IVAW membership, “yellow-bellied ass clowns like Ehran Watada who can’t hack military service and don’t understand the meaning of it.”

Military service in this land of FREE MEN AND WOMEN means having the courage and the honor to fulfill the orders of the superiors appointed to direct us, those whom we promised to obey when we joined.

Those who refuse to obey orders demonstrate a lack of honor. For those of you who can not fulfill your promises, you fall in with those “cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.” (TR) History will never recognize your mediocrity.

  5. The head of the IVAW is not an IV? Isn’t that a clue as to what a farce this organization is?

So what’s next — a guy as head of NOW; a white person as head of the NAACP?

    Socialists are such a hoot!

  6. Thanks for spreading the word!

  7. Boy we have some ignorance in the Military. That’s evident on this board. Maybe Afghanistan is the best place for you sheep. With any luck, you’ll stay there. We sure don’t need that kind of “honor” here!!

  9. Iraq was a lie…NO WMD’s at all, just oil to be stolen by a bunch of greedy skunks who know no honor and for fools to follow them and not see this, I pity you.

    • Tom,

I’m going to remain calm in spite of your utter ignorance, stupidity, and pity. You’re wrong in literally EVERYTHING you wrote in your short response here.

“Iraq was a lie.” How so? Do you even understand what a “lie” is?
“No WMDs at all.” Really? Explain the more than 500 chemical and biological weapons found in Iraq within a year of the invasion! Explain the uncounted munitions found since then! Oh, and before you get stupid about discrediting the few news sites that actually reported this information, keep in mind I was on a team that found numerous chemical weapons.
“…just oil stolen by a bunch of greedy skunks who know no honor and for fools to follow them and not see this…” Really?! Tell, me, Tom. Where is the oil we “stole?” Why isn’t gas $1 per gallon?
“I pity you.” I pity you more!

It’s easy to come in here and sling horse manure at a wall, but backing up your data with a real argument would be difficult, if not impossible.
