A SOLDIER'S PERSPECTIVE
THE WEB'S LEADING MILITARY BLOG SINCE 2004
It is with a heavy heart that I pass along this email I received yesterday! He will be missed! My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
I regret to inform you that Jordan Shay, the creator of the blog Through Amber Lenses, was killed in Baqubah, Iraq on Wednesday in an apparent rollover accident. The DoD has not confirmed his death but his local newspaper wrote that the police assisted the Army in notifying his family.
Jordan was new to blogging, writing only 16 posts since May. He was in my sister company but I never met him. He was a very talented writer on his third deployment, all at th e age of 22. His blog is at:

Alex wrote a story about Jordan here.Â
God bless Jordan and his family and friends.

I am just heart brokin over the death of this great guy, his blogs were insightful and I could see he had a good sense of humor. His last blog is what motivated me to work even harder in getting more care packages sent out with food and band-aid’s. My heart, thought’s and prayer’s to the family and friends who loved him so much. I will never ever forget you Jordan,..R.I.P.
