LAST UPDATE: Okay, so we’re up to $745 and I’m ready to cut it off. If we can just get to $1000 bars of chocolate, I’ll be happy. Keep in mind that I could still use some help with shipping all this chocolate if you’re able. If not, I’ll just ship it in increments. I want to start sending the boxes off around the first week of November so they get them in time for Thanksgiving snacks. So, I just need another $255 and then maybe another $100 or so to ship all this chocolate out. I have two units in Afghanistan and one in Iraq that these are going to. Thanks again for helping out with this effort!

UPDATE: Okay, I’ve gotten a few checks in, but we only have five days left. Removing the pledges I haven’t gotten and strictly going by money I have in hand, we are still up to $735. That’s okay. It’s not $2500, but it’s over 700 bars of chocolate so far that are going to our troops in combat. Thanks to a generous donation of $200, it looks like we’re still making progress. Five more days, folks, then I have to cut it off. Thanks in advance to everyone that has donated!!

UPDATE: We are up to $660 with only nine days to go. If you have sent me a check to my physical address, this total includes the pledges given to me but I haven’t received any checks yet. So, the actual number of money on hand is much lower.

UPDATE: We’re moving slowly with only 11 more days before I have to purchase the chocolate bars. We’re up to $525 and moving slowly toward our goal of $2500. Anything you can send will help, even if it’s only a few dollars. I will buy another $25 box on the next payday myself to ship. UPDATE: Okay, I got some more specific information from the school about what they have left and there are a few changes. The school has approximately 7,500 bars left. There is no way that I think we can raise $7,500 to purchase and ship all that chocolate, but I would like to set a goal of 2,500 bars of chocolate shipped to the combat zone. I will send 1250 each to Iraq and Afghanistan. So, if I could get 100 people to pledge $25 (one box), we can meet that goal. I’ve already gotten about 10 people. Naturally, if we raise more money, I’ll send more chocolate.

Okay, so a local school just ended one of those fundraisers where they sell those delicious “World’s Finest Chocolate” bars for a buck. They have the $3 off coupon to Pizza Hut on the wrapper and the money helps the school system.

Well, the fundraising coordinator contacted me saying they have a few hundred bars left over and the drive has ended. I asked him if I could try and sell them through this site and then send them all to the troops. So, that’s what we’re gonna do. My daughter is no longer in Girl Scouts, so my Girl Scouts to Cav Scouts needs a revamping. With the cooler weather coming up, now is the perfect time to send chocolate and not worry about it melting on the way there.
