UPDATE: I mixed up some of my notes and made some very bad errors, which I intend to fix with this update. The most important error addresses my statement that Kay Kibler was married to John Skelly. While it’s hard to believe anyone would marry him, I mixed up this name with his actual ex-wife Valerie Mayes. So, my sincerest apologies to Ms. Kibler for ever associating her that closely to John Skelly. I can see why anyone would be pissed at that error.

It’s important to note that I’ve spoken to over 40 people in the community, including law enforcement personnel, both parties in the matter, and other public officials. While I tried to avoid serious errors like this, I am human and made a mistake. However, Kibler isn’t exactly completely innocent, either. So, I made the corrections and then added some more details specifically about Kibler. Once these corrections are made, I will no longer be writing about this issue. Some people in Broadway have a problem with allowing people to exercise their rights. As such, they have sought to shut me up through the Army. I am looking into the source of these complaints and, depending on where they originate, I will be looking into filing a lawsuit. They tried this crap in Alabama and I didn’t let THEM get away with it. I sure as hell won’t let these people get away with the same thing.

Pretty pathetic title, isn’t it. In order to write this post, I felt the need to title it in a way that John Skelly from Broadway, VA, might understand. In his recent Facebook posting titled “Hero Maker to Zero”, Skelly doubles down on his embarrassing radio appearance adding more involved lies about patriot Clayton Murwin. The snarkiness of this pathetic individual can’t be missed.

“Clayton Murwin, your greatest accomplishment has arrived in Broadway. I hope you enjoyed that moment because it is going to turn very ugly for you in the very near future. C.J. Grisham’s latest release on his website (A Soldier’s Perspective) makes the point that you alone had commissioned the work you stood beside in the picture.”

Lie and/or misrepresentation #1 from Skelly’s diatribe. I said “the beautiful base of the memorial that Clayton commissioned to honor our fallen troops,” but never mentioned anything about it being him alone. For all I know, 40 million people commissioned it along with Clayton. Or, it could be one other person. Fact is, I don’t know. I just know that Clayton was involved in getting the memorial, unlike Skelly who has done nothing but stand in the way and create controversy where none exists.

Clayton has been put through the ringer to honor local fallen troops, including SPC Bucky Anderson. I’ve already gone over how some in the community, led by Skelly, have been convinced that the memorial was meant to be a memorial specifically to honor Bucky alone. The bottom line is that a memorial to honor the fallen and a patriot who wanted to make it happen are being attacked by criminals and lowlifes while the people responsible for protecting its citizens removes its blindfold in exchange for subjective enforcement of the law.

What is the big scandal that these idiots are focusing on? The spelling of “commemorate” and the order of “Turner Ashby Wrestling Team,” two mistakes that arrived with the memorial in Broadway. No one can be as pissed off or disappointed in these errors than Clayton. But, Skelly enjoys playing kindergarten games.

I wonder what is going through your mind now that you realized the word “commemorate” has been misspelled and engraved on the front of the monument.I wonder how you’re going to explain to the community how that monument in the picture has anything to do with Bucky Anderson or any of the fallen soldiers from Broadway High School.

Let me explain. SPC Bucky Anderson did something that Skelly doesn’t have the balls or bravery to do – he sacrificed his life in service to his country. So, to the members of the Broadway community buying into Skelly’s ignorance and stupidity, the monument in the picture is dedicated to fallen heroes. Bucky is a fallen hero! THAT is what the memorial has to with it. Hell, the darn thing even says so! What Skelly doesn’t mention is that the memorial is not yet complete. This is only the BASE of the memorial, not the complete thing. Next Skelly lie:

Neither of these groups have the status with the IRS as 501c3 organization and furthermore, Heroes Fallen Studios, Inc. has not registered with the State of Virginia as a non-profit organization.

Wow! Skelly is a genius. Apparently he can read, but he doesn’t dare tell all three people reading his ignorance. He is absolutely right that Heroes Fallen Studios, Inc. is not a 501c3. They are still waiting on their status to be reviewed and approved by the IRS. And guess what? It’s right on their website saying so. But, being a 501c3 is not the same thing as being a non-profit. They are not tax exempt yet.

The next problem for Skelly involves the next part of his posting:

Your next problem is on the back of the monument with your list of sponsors. You knew that Anderson’s did not want the sponsors who gave $500.00 listed on the back of the monument because they were deeply appreciative of all who gave for their son’s monument. One of your most glaring mistakes was to include the name of the actor Brain Krause at the top, his presence at a fund raiser cost the community over $500.00. You ignored members of the BHS Football Team.

Things get quite a bit touchy here. You see, Clayton has never released photos of the back of the memorial. The only photos released are the ones that we premiered here. Those photos only show the front of the base of the memorial. There is no way to see the back of the memorial, which was placed in a secure location on private property. It was also wrapped up and covered after the photos were taken. So, how does Skelly know what was on the back at all? And even if he were pretending to stalk children’s playgrounds again and took some binoculars to spy naked from a secluded location at a distance, he wouldn’t be able to see the back of the monument since it was covered. As much as he’d probably like them, there aren’t any real x-ray glasses I’m aware of available to civilians.

John Skelly broke the law and scaled the fence to the Trans Tech Towing and Repair lot where the memorial was being secured, removed the covering from the memorial, and snapped pictures. Clayton was promised by the owners that no one would have access to the memorial, which legally, no one did. Skelly spent 25 minutes in the area before scaling the fence again and hightailing it out of there with something in his hand, presumably the memorial’s invoice. These are pretty serious charges for anyone to make without proof. Thankfully, there is proof out there. Skelly was caught on the business’s camera going in and out of the area. He allegedly unwrapped the memorial and took several photos of the back side of the memorial, one of which was included in this newscast:

Here is a magnified version of the illegally obtained photo:

Keep in mind that Clayton had covered the memorial with a tarp and it was still wrapped around the back side. He also never released any photos of the back side of the monument to me or anyone else. So, there is no chance that the photos were leaked by Clayton or anyone else involved in the project. With Skelly cleaving to the spotlight and enjoying his 25 minutes of lame, he couldn’t help but rub salt into Clayton’s wounds by publicly embarrassing him with pictures of the memorial he wasn’t ready to release for obvious reasons. The memorial contained several errors when it arrived, mispelling “commemorated” and incorrectly listing one of the donors’ names among them. Skelly couldn’t wait to tell the public how that Clayton couldn’t do anything right and show the “proof” he had illegally obtained.

One would think that this is a slam dunk case in which Skelly would be immediately arrested and charged with criminal activity. But, this is Broadway where they “take care of our own.” The problem is that the police were sent to get documents and “investigate” Clayton, but hasn’t done anything of the like to hassle Skelly.

My inquiry to Commonweath Attorney Marsha Garst, who seems to be selected in when she will or will not get involved, was forwarded to CPT Wittig of the Sherriff’s office. However, when I called for a followup, I was told by Lt. Brown that they are not tracking any investigation into this incident and hadn’t heard anything about it. CPT Wittig has been on vacation and wouldn’t have any information either. This leads me back to the Broadway Police Department, the same department that seemed to have no problems going to Clayton’s home, but hasn’t approached Skelly. Correction: The Timberville Police Department is the department that was sent to Clayton’s house, not Broadway. Broadway PD did, however, send two officers out to Trans-Tech who reviewed the tape along with the owner and another individual when it was discovered that someone had gained entry after seeing the back of the memorial on the WHSV3 news cast.

Broadway is a small town; the people there have wasted no breath reminding me of this. Trans Tech attempted to file charges and immediately came under heavy pressure to drop the issue. Others that complained were also heavily pressured by Broadway police officials to drop the issue. In Broadway, it seems, if you try to defend yourself your business and way of life are threatened. If Skelly is good at anything (besides inappropriate relationships with children and trespassing), it’s telling a lie enough times that people start believing it. As such, he has convinced people in high places to turn a blind eye from justice and truth.

Now, the criminal Skelly went onto the Frank Welt show on local WSVA last week to spread his lies and further con the community into believing that Clayton is the monster he, himself, doesn’t want anyone to know he is. One of the first names that Skelly invoked in his diatribe is “a woman, a lady by the name of Kay Kibler” who was originally helping Clayton raise money for the memorial. Kay is a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Broadway and went to the group to ask for money. According to Kibler and Skelly, who are a former spouses it should be noted, Kay approached the VFW to ask for $600, but they wouldn’t donate unless the monument honored ALL the local fallen. Kay also called into the show, but I’ll get to that later. I want to take some moments to call Skelly out on his lies and distortions that can’t be denied since they are recorded for posterity.

Update: Kay Kibler was initially very instrumental in helping Clayton secure the location at the school where the memorial would be located. At no time did Clayton ever use an image of Bucky Anderson in an advertisement for the memorial. When Kibler went to the VFW with the image that Clayton drew, he wanted to make sure that she understood that this was just an artist’s rendition and that the image WOULD NOT appear on the memorial. Interesting that Kibler failed to mention that during her phone call.

There are two issues in this small clip. Frank Welt had asked him about why the monument wasn’t built locally to save costs, one of many direct questions that Skelly wouldn’t answer.

Skelly1st

The first problem is Skelly’s version of what the school board resolved. He mentions that the monument would be dedicated to Bucky and placed at Broadway School. But, that’s now what Dr. Carol Fenn said in this story:

“It’s to honor bucky anderson AND to honor the other fallen soldiers who attended Broadway high school,” explained Dr. Fenn.

The second lie in this clip from the radio show is when Skelly became involved. This will become evident later in the interview. Let’s continue with Skelly’s ignorance about all things common sense.

receipts

I know that many of my readers are going, “huh? Where is the problem here?” There is no problem here. Let me ask you something. When was the last time you got a receipt at a local car wash by the Boy Scouts, 4H, or other non-profit? When was the last time you got a receipt putting a dollar in the Ronald McDonald bucket? When was the last time you got a receipt for putting money in the Salvation Army bucket? Should I continue? That is not the norm and Skelly knows it. It’s funny because after I called into the radio show (my call coming up later) I got a comment on my last post on this issue that she “heard your rambling on the radio this morning, made us feel real sorry for you.” Guess she missed Skelly’s entire interview. Let’s continue, cause this is where the hypocrisy really starts to shine from Skelly.

dominos

Domino’s Pizza did a fund raiser to raise money for Heroes Fallen Studios’ efforts to build this monument. One of the chief complaints of Skelly and his ilk is that he feels like the community was mislead into what they were giving money to. He maintains, wrongly, that people were promised a memorial to Bucky Anderson and that it was changed to honor ALL fallen troops. Now, he is complaining because Clayton is seeking money that was raised for HIS organization, using the Heroes Fallen Studios name, and they weren’t going to give it to him. They decided they had a better idea for the money and, of course, Skelly thinks THIS is a good idea while complaining about Murwin supposedly doing the exact same thing. Even Skelly (who obviously doesn’t really put much weight in the law anyway) dismisses the fact that there are laws about fund raising with a sly “whatever” in another attempt to slander Clayton.

simplequestions

“The communication lines never got established like they should have been.” No kidding, John! But, it couldn’t have anything to do with YOUR demeanor in “asking” those questions, could it? Of course not! You were obviously super gentlemanly and kind in asking those questions. Not once did you demand and take an offensive stance which precipitated the “defensive” one taken by Clayton, right?! As you continue to see, integrity is not a strong suit of criminals like John Skelly.

marshagarst

“She backed off at my request.” Really, John? That’s not how she tells it. According to the Commonwealth Attorney, SHE was the one that tried to get YOU to back off and stop being such a prick (prick being my word, of course). Skelly wanted warrants issued and Clayton charged.

warrants

Sounds to me like the exact opposite image of benevolence that Skelly is trying to portray as the sole, level-headed actor in this play. But, he builds on those lies.

plaque

I won’t even directly call him out on this lie. Instead, listen to another person who was actually there at the mediation tell you what happened.

plaque2

The interesting part of this phone call from Karen is that after she completely contradicted Skelly on so many points (I’ll have a link to her entire phone call at the end), he didn’t answer even ONE of them. Even worse is that the radio host – who, in my opinion, is two levels of professionalism down from me and Troy as hosts – never called on him to respond either! Frank Welt is just as guilty as spreading lies and misrepresentations as Skelly. When you listen to Karen’s entire phone call, listen to the sighs he audibly expresses as she is bringing up valid points. He even tries to cut her off at one point and end the phone call so she can’t continue to embarrass Skelly (and, by extension, Welt). So, what were they sighing about? Probably the fact that Skelly conveniently neglected to mention some very key reasons for why the mediation failed.

mediation

That was only ONE of the revelations that came out that revealed Skelly to be the snake oil salesman he is. Karen explained in great details truths that left Skelly speechless. Since he couldn’t exactly defend himself without lying further, he decided to attack none other than some dude named CJ Grisham. That’s okay. CJ is a big enough man to take it. I guess when you don’t have a leg to stand on otherwise, lashing out at others is an option. As long as he’s focused on me, he’s not working hard to ruin other innocent patriots like Clayton. I wonder…using Skelly’s logic about me not supporting the families of fallen heroes, could I also say that Skelly doesn’t support our troops and those with PTSD because he disagrees with me? Yeah, I know. There is no logic in that.

skellyresponsekaren

There is a LOT more to this story, but I’m going to have to break it up into multiple parts. I’ve still got some inquiries out on some issues that I’ve raised here as well as other information that will continue to blow you away. I found it ironic that Skelly talked about “the quality of the people that Murwin is dealing with” when speaking about something I SAID knowing in his mind that not more than 48 hours earlier he had broken into a private business and molested private property. It’s ironic that this is the guy that was fired from his position at a local school for an inappropriate sexual relationship with a student, according to sources in the area. And the only response he has to the phone call is an intentional twisting of my words that were obviously directed at HIM and not the Anderson family.

To be continued…

Here are a couple of the recorded phone calls from the interview. The first one is me. I had the misfortune of being the next caller right after Mrs. Anderson. I had no idea while I was on hold that she would be calling in. Upon hearing her, I thought long and hard about hanging up, but I couldn’t let myself do it. It was a difficult transition for me, but I tried to get right to the point.

cjcall

Here is Karen’s call in its entirety.

karencall

I haven’t forgotten about Skelly’s inflammatory Facebook posting either, but there’s a lot to digest. I’ll get back to it in Part II.

NOTE: Nothing in this post should be construed to mean that I feel that all members of the Broadway community are somehow crooked, stupid, ignorant morons, pathetic losers, criminals, child molesters, or other vile terms I use to describe Skelly and his band of misfit morons. I live in a small town myself and understand small town politics. My hope is that the good people of Broadway will step back and take an objective look at this entire ordeal and come their own, educated opinions about both Clayton and Skelly.

I do not fault the Anderson family in any way whatsoever. NONE! They are still in their various stages of grief and this is a difficult situation to deal with, especially when a guy they’ve known and trusted for 20 years turns out to be a twisted pervert, liar, and criminal. My quarrel is NOT with the Anderson whom I respect greatly for their loss. It’s Skelly that I have a complete lack of respect for based on his actions, his words, and his history.

  1. One has to wonder what it is that the Broadway Police Department has to hide that they would not perform their legal and ethical duty in arresting Johnny Boy Skelly. It would be appropriate to call the State of Virginia and/or Federal Department of Justice/FBI to investigate this crime. If the company that Johnny Boy scaled the fence and snapped the pictures of the monument has a video of Johnny Boy doing this then a crime has been committed and it is the duty of the local Barney Fife types to investigate and charge the offender. One has to wonder if the FBI were called in what they might find behind Door #2 in the Broadway P.D. Offices. Perhaps the local P.D. has an employee who is suspected of similar behavior as that which got Johnny Boy fired from the School.

  2. Mr. Grisham, You better get your facts straight before you start putting comments about me on here! You have no idea what you are talking about and you are so far off about my relationship with John Skelly, nor do you have a clue about my previous employeers or my connection with the VFW. It’s time for you to shut your mouth and leave the people of Broadway alone. Mind your own business.

    • Kay, obviously, you aren’t interested in setting the facts straight. So, just tell me where I’m wrong and I’ll issue the appropriate corrections.

  3. And there won’t be a part 2 to this. CJ has to drop it. They went to the Army and complained. And CJ got the “You have the right to say what you want *wink wink nudge nudge*” routine.

CJ, I can’t WAIT until you retire, and the gloves come off. That will be some fun times. I am looking forward to our debates. 8-)

  4. CJ: Kay is not John Skelly’s first wife – that would be Valerie Mayes (Broadway Valerie), and she is no longer a member of the local VFW Ladies Auxilery (she resigned due to conflicts w/them regarding this memorial). I think that is what Kay is referring to….correct Kay?

    • Thanks, Karen. I have made the corrections and apologized both publicly and privately to Kay.

  5. This idiot thinks I’m going to let her continue to comment. She’s obviously obsessed by my dazzling good looks and sparkling personality. Although, I will save your funny attempts at commenting so that I can use them one day in the future in a comedy post. Under how many names do I have to tell you that you’re not allowed to comment here? Well, add another one. – CJ

  6. CJ Note: I’m going to approve this comment for a couple of reasons. One: It made me actually laugh out loud. Two: John Skelly made a comment about “the quality of the people that Murwin is dealing with” during his radio interview on WSVA. With that in mind, I present the latest comment from Sara, the Perdue Chicken Farm worker, who has called for my death in combat and told another Gold Star Mom to jump off a bridge. You can kind of see why I’ve been edited her comments. To quote another Broadway moron, THIS is the quality of people that Skelly is dealing with. Normally, I don’t allow profanity in the comments, but I’m making an exception this time to make a point:

You are pathetic. Self absorbed and full of shit, man. I’m trying to pull you back to the truth where as you fully avoid it; no, sir, you don’t have any looks to speak of and you’re just an dilusional idiot with no penis.

You are the biggest, saddest, coward I’ve ever seen and a huge shame to the military. No wonder why the world wide web has it’s low opinion of you.. you do realize you’re a huge joke, don’t you? The local media here doesn’t even mention your name. I can see why.

I’ll continue to pray for you. Hell has your reservation. I know when you do die, you’ll see. I hope it’s soon. Real soon.

My response: *bend over, hysterical laughter* *wipes tears* *more hysterical laughter*

    • I could call CJ many names. The Gods alone know how many times I’ve had issue to use them.

Coward, however, is not one of them.

Do you even know anything about CJ? Did you know he has medals for Valor, and for being wounded in combat?

      How many do you have?

      *starts laughing along with CJ*

      • Thanks for not sinking to my level and calling people names, Bob! ;) I would never wish death on anyone, regardless of their actions or words and especially when they face death so often to begin with. I wouldn’t want it on my conscience if it actually happened. Of course, not everyone is blessed with a conscience as evidenced by Sara’s comments.

    • OMG! I have to join CJ and others in the laughing. Most people I know have a very HIGH opinion of CJ and this blog. This person really doesn’t have a clue as to what they are talking about.

As for the “local” media not mentioning CJ, I can’t remember when in the history of this blog, that CJ has EVER asked for or ran after attention from the MSM. He knows as well as I do and from personal experience, that being in the public eye can bring out some very nasty people. People that are jealous and just want to bring you down no matter how much good you do.

Some people just need to GROW THE HELL UP!

(Sorry for the cussing CJ, it called for it.)

    • Has anyone contacted Predue about the use of their computers for this type of BS**** ????
If not I an not beneath that one. Then maybe the douchebag (sorry cj) can jump off a bridge instead of me when Perdue sends Sara packing.

  7. CJ, just because they’ve bullied you into shutting up doesn’t mean the rest of us have to shut up, too.

  8. In moments like these, I feel like paraphrasing George Takei. Sara, “you are a douchebag. That’s right- a douchebag. No one, whatever their personal or religious beliefs, should ever wish death on a fellow human being.”

    • I saw that roast. He was hilarious. Now that he’s out of the closet and not repressed, he’s letting it all go, and making me laugh so much I nearly wet myself.

  9. Valerie says:
“CJ, just because they’ve bullied you into shutting up doesn’t mean the rest of us have to shut up, too.”
Damm Right, Valerie, and I have no intention of doing so. As long as Clayton is honoring the gag order and not allowed to speak up for himself and his non-profit (recognized by the Commonwealth of VA), there are many who will keep standing up and defending a good man, trying to do a good thing, against little tin gods who lack integrity but do not lack the desire for their moment of being big shots.
Feeling important and good about yourself and getting yourself on TV and the radio, by seemingly “protecting” a Gold Star Family against a “hero-killer” evil person, by lying, is really the low of the low.
The truth will be told and hopefully this community of Broadway will be open-minded enough to accept it.
And no, Clayton Murwin is NOT using the memorial’s funds OR Fallen Hero Bucky Anderson’s name to further his book’s publication and funding.
I have seen the proof of this myself. And since I’m not under a gag order, I will say so.

~ A really ticked off Blue 2-Star Army Mom who absolutely hates it when ANYONE uses our kids in uniform or military families for 15 minutes of self-glory.

  10. C.J.,

Why are funds being solicited (and directed to be sent to Murwin’s attorney in Richmond) for the “corrections” to be made to the monument?

These are “scrivner’s errors” and I would assume a proof of the text was given to Murwin to approve prior to manufacture…if not, the manufacturer should be willing to “fix” the monument at no cost.

Also, I was made aware that about $5,000 more than the cost of the monument was raised and the “fix” will be about $1300…where’s the excess funds that were raised and why are additional funds being raised when about $5,000 apparently exists?

    • Dave, first of all NUNYA. Stands for, none of your business. Seems you all have been made aware of a bunch of things that weren’t right. You’re more stupid than even I thought if you buy into everything you hear. What do you care about repairs? It’s not like anyone in the community is volunteering to make it right. Where were you to help at any part of this process? You’re a coward and loser and don’t care about anyone but yourself. Don’t worry about the monument. We’ll make it right WITHOUT you and your fellow antagonizers. You see, because we actually care that a fallen hero is memorialized, whereas you only care about tearing a man down.

You come in here and completely ignore the facts laid out and just want to cause more problems. I guess that’s all you’re good at. You’re nothing but a low-life piece of manure, Dave. You’ll never amount to anything in life, so you’re trying to tear down others to make yourself feel better. What a pathetic human being!

  11. You’re getting a little testy, aren’t you, CJ? I seem to have struck a nerve.

It seems you’re man, Murwin, who spells like a fucking ape does, spent thousands of dollars he extracted out of people both in and out of the community on a monument…put lots of misspelled and mangled names on it, and didn’t have the fucking sense of an ape to check his spelling…all on a monument only 1/3 to 1/2 done and four months late.

    You crack me up, CJ.

You’re a fucking legend in your own mind…obviously nowhere else and of little value to the Army who transferred you because you can’t play with the other children in the civilian playground.

Instead of jerking yourself off while calling people and communities of which you know not thing one about names, why not just lay some pipe with your wife and chill the fuck out.

Our community, and most people in it, are getting sick of your mouth.

    • Dave, I’ve been testy since this started. I don’t take stupidity or ignorance so well and you exude it in spades. You have just demonstrated what is wrong with you and your ilk. You complain and complain and do NOTHING to fix it. I’m glad I crack you up, but I could not care less if you laugh at me or spit at my name. You can make this about me all you want and I understand it’s because you don’t have a common sense leg to stand on. I wouldn’t have gotten into this if I wasn’t prepared for what morons like you are gonna say. And I could not care less either what some people in your community are sick of. There is nothing you can do about it as long as we have a Republic and a Constitution (which probably won’t be long if we don’t get rid of our national leadership). I can’t help that your “community, and most people in it” can’t stand for the truth. It’s just one example why “most people” in Broadway will probably not make it very far in life. Don’t worry though. I’m planning a trip down there to help double the IQ of you and your group-think clones.

  12. CJ, truth tends to have two sides…

I began to see the other side when you questioned the allegedly illegal entry onto private property, but your willingness to go apeshit nuts continues to reassure me that I sit on the right side of this issue.

    • And your lack of common sense explains why you’re such a piss poor lawyer. The fact that you would condone illegal behavior speaks volumes.

  13. I’m not a lawyer, CJ.

Yet another misstatement you’ve made, of many.

  14. Calling you a lawyer is analogous to calling Clayton a f***ing ape. I just chose not to use profanity – a sure sign of a lack of intelligence and vocabulary. For the record, is you use that language here again, it’ll be the last thing you get published on this site. You continue to prove my point that you can’t refute the facts so you resort to name calling and shifting the conversation.

  15. With all due respect, Dave, perhaps it would be appropriate for you to check your (not “you’re”) own spelling before tearing into another person for spelling errors.

Now as for not knowing thing one of Rockingham County, can you name one thing about this case that reflects well on Rockingham County?

I will happily accept any and all evidence that Rockingham County is quite different from the bad impressions this case leaves this “outsider.”

    • Unfortunately, Valerie, he’s just been banned for failing to abide by my standards of profanity on this site. however, if he submits a comment in response to this, I will approve it if it contains no profanity.

  16. Dave, I warned you about the profanity. I guess you aren’t interested in civil dialogue, but it doesn’t matter now. No future comments will be approved as you refuse to abide by rules on this site. And, for the record, I don’t need YOU to attain any level of credibility! How many times YOU been invited to the White House? – CJ

  17. Well, there you have it. CJ, good on you ~ I don’t take kindly to people coming into my place and starting the name calling and all either. But what really gets me is when people think that repeating the same thing over and over again even when it’s proven false, is commenting or dialogue.
How ridiculous, ludicrous and sad this has all gotten…nothing like taking a positive and turning it into a C*F* in a world where there is so much vitriol and BS already.

  18. Our School Board, last night, just killed Murwin’s “monument” being placed anywhere on the grounds of Broadway High School.

I heard this occurred after Dave Briggman spoke with the Superintendent and several Board members.

    Dave…you rock!

    • Pathetic.

  19. Interesting. So now that the Heroes Fallen-sponsored memorial won’t be on BHS grounds, what will BHS do to honor their fallen alumni? Nothing? Or will they have to start from scratch, jump through the same hoops to get a monument approved, and raise the funds?

  20. The “bomb” drops, tomorrow, in Rockingham County.

  21. The crazy people of Broadway & surrounding areas are fighting a war to “win” control over other’s (particularly David Murwin & Heroe’s Fallen Studio’s) – totally forgetting that this memorial was to honor REAL solidiers fighting and dying in REAL wars for all of our freedom’s and protection.
Totally beyond pathetic and sad. I am sure that Bucky is shaking his head in shame.

  22. Trust me, the only thing Bucky is shaking is his fist, high in the air, and he’s yelling at the top of his lungs. Way to go Mom. Way to go Dad. Way to go Andy and Jenny. Way to go John. Thanks to all of you who worked to make this right. Rest in peace Buck.

  23. everyone on the site needs to shut up and leave our town and all the people in it alone, especially john and the andersons. dont yall think they have enough going on with dealing with thier loss during the holidays they dont need to read or deal with this crap, i mean really karen u didnt even know bucky so u need to keep his name out of your mouth (what a bitch). he was a good friend of mine and u and cj needs to leave his name out of all your comments.

  24. everyone on this site needs to leave the andersons alone they have enough to deal with, the holidays are upon us and this is gonna be the hardest time and a certain bitch is bringin buckys name up, first of all u didnt know him so dont speak of him.

  25. The only “bomb” I’d seen dropped was another article by Joshua Brown which revealed that the other fallen troops of Broadway only “may” be honored with the new, relatively unplanned memorial. That was to be a definite with the Heroes Fallen monument.

  26. Yes, the Andersons have been through and will continue to go through a lot, and shockingly enough, there isn’t anybody here who doesn’t feel for them.

How, pray tell, will continuing this ridiculous smear campaign against an innocent man make things any better for the Andersons rather than just continue this insanity?

Yes, I agree that everyone on this site should leave the Andersons alone. And leave the Murwins alone, too.

    • I’m confused. Who is messing with the Andersons? By wanting to place a memorial, they are being messed with? This post isn’t even about them, but the would-be convict, John Skelly.

Valerie, I agree. IF anyone is messing with the Anderson’s, they need to leave them alone.

  27. Well, Mr. Grisham, you could start by looking in the mirror. Here are a couple of your recent posts:

    Here’s a reply to Bucky’s brother…

@Andy, you have put yourselves through hell by relying on people who have misled and lied to you. You have relied upon criminals and ignorant morons. The memorial is created and there is no law that says in order to honor fallen Soldier ANYONE needs to approve. Perhaps if you could think objectively instead of emotionally, you’d see this project for what it really is – an attempt by an honorable man to honor a fallen honorable man – whom I’m confident would NOT approve of the actions of your “supporters” and confidants. God Bless Bucky Anderson and his ultimate sacrifice to this country and God bless people like Clayton trying to honor that!

My Comment: “You have put yourselves through hell…” Not a very nice way of addressing the family of a fallen soldier, do you think?

Sara, don’t patronize with your holier than thou psycho babble. The answers have been provided; you just weren’t listening. Because some selfish people in the community (my words, not Clayton’s – another lie from the Anderson family), NO FALLEN TROOPS are being honored, including Bucky. It’s “if my son isn’t prominent, then no one’s son is prominent. He’s more important.” It’s pathetic, it really is.

My comment: “…another lie from the Anderson family…” Are you seriously calling Bucky’s family liars?

    • Joe, are you seriously using this logic? Andy came HERE, not the other way around. If they want to be left alone, why are they commenting on my site?

“Not a very nice way of addressing the family of a fallen soldier, do you think?” No, it’s called honestly. It’s a rarity in today’s society because people want to be coddled. Yes, I’m calling members of Bucky’s family liars. Did I stutter there? YOU quoted it. Just because one is a Gold Star family member doesn’t give them the right to spread lies. Or does it in your mind, coach?

  28. I had hoped that I might be able to draw your attention to the fact that you are continuing to inflame the Andersons’ pain and prolong their grieving process. My attempt has clearly been unsuccessful. I fear that there may be no hope left, but I will pray for you.

I will, however, attempt to answer your questions…

“Joe, are you seriously using this logic?”

    Yes, I am.

“If they want to be left alone, why are they commenting on my site?”

I didn’t find Andy’s comment, or your reply on your site, but on cindyiniraq.com.

    “Did I stutter there?”

    No, you did not.

“Just because one is a Gold Star family member doesn’t give them the right to spread lies. Or does it in your mind, coach?”

    No, it does not.

See how easy it is to answer simple questions?

    • Oh, ok. If you want to play gotcha games. Let me rephrase: If the Anderson family wants to be left alone, why are they reading blogs like mine and Cindy’s?

“See how easy it is to answer simple questions?” Why yes! I do it all the time. Thank you.

  29. “Oh, ok. If you want to play gotcha games. Let me rephrase: If the Anderson family wants to be left alone, why are they reading blogs like mine and Cindy’s?”

Because the loss of their loved one is still fresh. I still find myself looking up stuff about Bucky’s death on the internet, hoping to God that I’ll wake up from a terrible dream. They’re in a far worse place.

I am glad to read that you are capable of, and willing to, answer simple questions. It’s unfortunate that simple questions could not, or would not, be answered months ago.

It could have saved all of us, most importantly the Andersons, a great deal of unecessary stress and heartache.

    • Simple questions (and complicated ones) WERE answered when asked until it became obvious that those asking them didn’t really want answers. So those simple answers because complicated ones for legal reasons. You can thank folks like Lowell Fulk and John Skelly for that.

  30. Actually, I was one of those people who was looking for answers(or not looking for answers, depending on your perspective) who was present when the initial questions were asked. I left knowing no more than I did when I entered. In my mind, there’s a problem there.

I refuse to believe that simple questions cannot be answered simply. If you’re implying that I just don’t get it, please enlighten me. If the law is on your side, then what is there to hide?

You are absolutely right about the people I can thank. John Skelly is at the top of the list. Lowell Fulk is somewhere down the line, but he seemed like a decent guy when I talked to him.

  31. C.J. didn’t intend in the least to hurt the Andersons in any of this, but to protest injustices committed by some claiming to represent the Andersons. I must repeat my questions. How does libeling and slandering an innocent man make things any better for the Andersons? How does littering the town with libelous fliers (that plagiarized comic book artist Frank Miller, by the way)make things any better for the Andersons? How does distributing an innocent man’s address with an implied invitation to intimidate, harrass, and terrorize him make things any better for the Andersons? How does being caught on camera breaking and entering to steal an invoice and take pictures of a flawed monument that was intended from its arrival to be corrected make things any better? How does violating a gag order that the Andersons agreed to- a gag order that the Murwins have followed to a tee even though it meant they couldn’t defend themselves in the press- make things any better for anyone?

  32. I didn’t mean to insinuate you were, Valerie. I completely agree with what you just said. The whole argument against Clayton comes from forked tongues. The Andersons deserve preference, but not at the expense of truth and honor.

  33. Well, C.J.,

It seems your man, Murwin, lost a suit seeking a refund of moneys a donor paid to him in Rockingham General District Court, yesterday…the judge award Chip Parkins some $580 for a $500 donation, plus court costs. Murwin, apparently, paid up while still in Court yesterday.

Today, Margaret Anderson filed suit against Murwin and Heroes Fallen Studios, Inc.

And, within minutes, we should be hearing that the Rockingham County Public Schools have approved a monument that the Andersons are fully supporting to be placed on the grounds of Broadway High School.

Hey, C.J. Where’s the rest of that monument your man, Murwin, was building? I understand that the bronze portion has never arrived…and it’s only six months past due.

    • Dave, it seems as if you have a problem with the truth. The TRUTH, as hard as it is for you people to admit, is that Clayton didn’t LOSE anything. The judge didn’t award anything to Clayton. Clayton went into that courtroom with a check for $500. Clayton then voluntarily paid court costs. NOTHING was ordered. Now, if you’d like me to file a FOIA to the court to prove you wrong, I can do that. The trouble is that NO ONE would be able to get any information because it doesn’t exist. The judge presided over the transaction, so there is no record. Had there been a judicial award, as you call it, it would be a part of court records.

Second, Margaret Anderson has filed a losing, costly suit that will only result in more mud on her face. She has nothing to stand on because no money was raised for the scholarship, it was raised for Heroes Fallen Studios, Inc. Legally, Margaret can’t claim damages for money that was never hers. She can file any suit she wants, but that doesn’t mean that she will get anything. Instead, she’ll lose more money that she doesn’t have. The fact is that this lawsuit to get $600 is a result of not being able to raise any real money through “Friends of Bucky Anderson” memorial, so she’s resorting to illegal and dishonest litigation.

Third, at some point I must have given you the impression that I actually care about your fake monument. I must have given you the false impression that I care what Margaret Anderson endorses. I must have given you the impression that I somehow care about anything relating to Margaret Anderson. She is a narcissist who is trying to project her grief on others, trying to make them feel as miserable as she is. While she has a legitimate reason to feel miserable, she has no legitimate reason to force that upon others – especially Clayton Murwin.

Fourth and final, where Murwin’s monument may be is none of your business. Remember, you don’t care “as long as it’s not at the school.” So, stop asking questions you don’t need the answer to.

But, since others with more brains that you have may be interested, stay tuned. Contrary to what people like Briggman and Skelly want you to believe, the monument is actually very close to being completely ready. But, again, that’s none of Dave’s concern anymore. Remember, he and his ilk have separated themselves from Clayton and the memorial. They no longer have any claims (nor did they before).
