A SOLDIER'S PERSPECTIVE
THE WEB'S LEADING MILITARY BLOG SINCE 2004
Ace of Spades published a piece today about an article written by Amy Hagopian, assistant professor with the University of Washington’s Department of Global Health. Anyone associated with a department of “global health” can already be easily classified as a nutjob, but for this particularly slanderous piece, Amy stays local with her completely ignorant rhetoric.

Amy Hagopian, aka The Hag.
In full disclosure, I have not read the entire paper. I have ready everything I could find on the internet about it as well as listened to her own words when she appeared on KIRO-FM’s Dori Monson Show. The gist of her rambling is that military recruiters are no better than child predators. Why? Because they use tactics that Hagopian (shortened to just Hag from now on for ease) says are no different than those of child predators around high schools. It should be noted that this wasn’t just lady that decided she wanted to do a story. She was LOOKING for some way to support her adamant opposition to having military recruiters in high schools. She’s yet another very anti-military professor at yet another state university that is responsible for “educating” our youth. It’s quite obvious just listening to this ONE clip from the show, what she thinks of our military REGARDLESS of any fake study she put together to come such an asinine conclusion. Dori does a great job getting to the root of her ignorance in this short part.
Hag informs us that surely military recruiters are the epitome of the definition of a predator.
But, by her own logic, I don’t quite understand why she stopped at strictly banning the military from high schools campuses. After all, colleges recruit in high schools, scouts from various sports recruit, the Peace Corps recruits, etc. Hag claims that the Army is hazardous to a young person’s health while ignoring all the injuries and head trauma that exists, for example, in football. The reason the military is so dangerous and risky to one’s health is because we go after people who just as soon see people like Hag hanging from a bridge after being burned to a crisp. We are the people who have no problems seeking and destroying those that would ram a plane into a building, snuffing out 3000 in an instant. We are the people who would risk our very lives to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
The military IS a risky profession, that much Hag gets right. But, we understand that and are willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice to ensure that our country and its citizens are protected.
It’s obvious that this isn’t about some fictitious health risk. It’s about the fact that Hagopian hates our military. Loathes the troops who actually enjoy what we do. She can’t stand the fact that there are actually people in this country that love America and want to ensure it remains the best nation on earth. People like Hag hate this country and its freedoms. She’d prefer we were all slaves and remained ignorant of freedom and liberty, freedoms she enjoys while spewing her stupidity and hatred in the classroom.
I can’t help but wonder how many military recruiters the Hag actually spoke to in formulating her absurd opinions. The Hag has every right to hate the military. Contrary to what she wants to believe, we do help secure those rights. Not by necessarily DOING anything, but just by BEING THERE. Because we have such a strong military, no one dares try and come over here and take that freedom or liberty from us. However, I do find it laughable that our institutions of higher learning allow people this stupid to “educate” our youth. Not that it was ever on my list of top destinations, but not one cent of MY money will ever go to anything doing with University as long as she’s a professor there.

Look at Hag’s profiles…

Out of about 50 faculty in this particular part of the School of Medicine she is the only author of this piece of work

Only one who cites her anti-military work in her resume… http://myprofile.cos.com/7hagopian
As a recruiter not only is this sham insulting… it is also laughable. This is just one more reason to avoid the liberal state sponsored “University”.

What a piece of work!
