Axe Buzzed Look Cream (A Product Review)

I’m a converted Axe product user. I love the stuff! I use the body wash, the shampoo, and the deodorant. Last year, I did a review for USA Spirit of America in which I temporarily halted my fanatical use of Axe products. So, when I had the opportunity to receive a free sample of a new product created with troops in mind, I jumped at the opportunity. As is usual, I was provided with a sample of Axe Buzzed Look Cream, but was not in any way compensated, promised, or in any other way bribed for a positive review.

As my readers and Twitter followers know, I’ve had a few basal cell carcinoma skin cancers removed from my face. So, taking care of my skin has become something I’m adamant about. So, it was obviously a bonus that Axe Buzzed Look Cream comes with SPF15 sunscreen. Every little bit helps!

The Buzzed Look has a great masculine smell that isn’t overpowering. I had fun going around asking people to “smell my head!” My hair is a little longer than the buzzed look that many troops have, but it worked nonetheless. And it didn’t leave my hair feeling oily and greasy. Instead of leaving my hair and scalp all spiky, it was left soft and “touchable.”

But besides being a cool product, Axe is actually doing something for the troops as well as they introduce this product. AXE Hair is partnering with Wounded Warrior Project and making a donation of $50,000 to the non-profit organization whose mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors.

“Over 44,000 of our nation’s armed forces have been physically wounded during the current military conflicts and hundreds of thousands more are estimated to be recovering from the invisible wounds of war,” said Adam Silva, chief development officer of Wounded Warrior Project. “AXE Hair’s contribution will fund programs that nurture the mind, body and spirit and help returning warriors take on their next challenges here at home.”

“While we are proud of our latest styling innovation, we are even prouder to be working with Wounded Warrior Project to help make a difference in the lives of those who have served our country,” said David Rubin, marketing director for AXE Hair.

Guys and girls can “like” AXE’s Facebook page to show their support of AXE Hair’s contribution to Wounded Warrior Project.

AXE Buzzed Look is currently available at most food, drug and mass retail outlets for a suggested retail price of $6.99. I’ll be taking mine with me to Afghanistan. My body may stink every day to high heaven, but my hair will smell manly!

  1. Are you kidding me? Are you fighting for our country or reviewing hair products? I am incredibly dissapointed; go review a gun or some grenades or something…but really? A hair product??

    • Yeah, whoda thunk it? A Soldier that can do both! maybe you need to read more of this site since you obviously seem lost about everything I review and why!

  2. Here is a review from Amazon – to show you that you are full of shit!

Axe Styling Cream, Crew Cut, Buzz Cut Look, 2.64-Ounce (Pack of 2) (Misc.)
I thought since this was for hair it would have a better smell & different consistency than regular sunscreen, but it doesn’t. Very greasy & white & no particular scent other than chemicals.

    • Diesel, why do you accept THAT review over my review. Perhaps the person that wrote it already had greasy hair? Perhaps they just hate Axe? Perhaps, it really was greasy….FOR THEM! The one “full of shit” here is you and cherry picking. I liked not only the product, but what they are doing to support wounded troops. If you don’t like that, I really don’t care.

  3. C.J., thanks for taking the time to test this new Axe product and write the review. I’m no soldier, old or otherwise, but I do keep a pseudo-flattop (thinning hair on top), and I just ran across an ad for Axe’s new Buzzed Look cream.

Sun exposure is definitely a factor to consider for anyone with thinning hair or a buzzed/shaved look. I’ve worked up a damn fine burn more than once, and the resulting skin peel is worse than any dandruff I’ve ever seen! Also, though, it’s nice to know there’s something you personally like (masculine scent, not too oily, etc.) for a guy. I’ll be sure to give this product a shot.

Thanks again! (And thanks for your service, as well.)

    • I think you’ll like it, Shane. If you don’t, come back and let us know why.

  4. Thanks for the review! I was skeptical of buzzed look but now I think I’ll give it a try.

  5. I’m female and was looking for some helpful hygiene products to include alongside the usual letters, sand scarf, boot socks, beef jerky, power bars, and batteries in male soldier’s care packages. (I’m doing some for a female soldier too but that’s easier for me to figure out.) This product seems to fit the bill and give to the troops in more ways than one. If my male soldiers have too much hair to use it, I’m sure they’ll know others who can. Thank you for your review and for your service to our country too.
