A SOLDIER'S PERSPECTIVE
THE WEB'S LEADING MILITARY BLOG SINCE 2004
Got this announcement and wanted to share. Would be cool to be a part of this team and just be in the presence of a military hero.
International Training, Inc. (ITI), the training division for G4S, announced today the line-up of its official sniper competition team. Comprised of two members, the ITI Sniper Competition Team will be ambassadors to the military and law enforcement communities and will show how skills learned from their many courses in Texas and Virginia can benefit a trained sniper.
The team’s first competition will be at the Sniper / Observer Competition, held at the Storm Mountain Training Center, Inc. in Elk Garden, WV October 14-16, 2011. All proceeds from this event will be donated directly to the Wounded Warrior Project to enhance their continued assistance and support of our service members.
Team members include:

Dakota Meyer
Dakota Meyer is a U.S. Marine veteran and recipient of the Medal of Honor for his actions during the Battle of Ganjgal on September 8, 2009, part of Operation Enduring Freedom in Kunar province, Afghanistan. Meyer enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2006 and was later deployed to Fallujah, Iraq in 2007 as a Scout Sniper with the 3rd Battalion 3rd Marines. He gained national attention for his actions in Afghanistan during his second deployment in Kunar province with Embedded Training Team 2-8. Meyer was awarded the Medal of Honor in a ceremony on September 15, 2011 by President Barack Obama.

Craig R. Sawyer
Craig Sawyer, AKA “Sawman,” got his tactical start in the U.S. Marine Corps. He quickly transitioned to the U.S. Navy to pursue high-level Special Operations as a U.S. Navy SEAL. He is an expert in Counter-Terrorist Operations and Hand to Hand / Combat Fighting. Sawyer is also a U.S. Marine & SEAL Advanced Sniper Instructor, as well as a U.S. Federal Air Marshal & Manager. In the realm of “High-Threat, Mobile Security,” Craig has run the specialized teams responsible for providing security to U.S. Senators, Hilary Clinton, John McCain, U.S. Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, as well as U.S. Ambassador John Negroponte and other U.S. Ambassadors and key U.S. leaders in the various war zones. He has expertise in surveillance and counter-surveillance and has had international experience in 54 countries.
Team sponsors include: International Training, Inc., Black Rain Ordnance, U.S. Optics, Vortex Optics, Tango Down, Solutions Group International, U.S. Patriot Tactical, Magnum, Safariland, Invicta, VLTOR, Pelican Armory, US P.A.L.M, Oakley, 215 Gear, Imminent Threat Solutions, and Global Defense Initiatives.
I’ve been through the ITI driving and Counter Terrorism courses they offered and they are top notch. If you ever have the chance to do any of these, jump on it. Depending on your military job, you can be sent TDY to participate in this training. Most in the SF world – or at least those that actually serve in the SF community after training – either go through this or VIR training in Virginia. It’s difficult, but very fun!

In a “small world” moment for us, remember when you had Colby Donaldson on the podcast talking about Top Shot? Craig Sawyer is on that show a lot as one of their experts.

Sad to note that these guys got all the sponsors to pay their way, give them thousands in gear and cash to go and they decided to go party in Atlanta. Maybe they should get it all back donate it all to Wounded warrior.

It’s disturbing that JOHN ^ here apparently is too irresponsible to get even the slightest clue before he posts.
The event in Atlanta was entirely unrelated and was almost 6 months prior. It was specifically put on by Wounded Warriors In Action to show some combat wounded veterans a good time. Apparently JOHN has a problem with decorated veterans “partying” with our combat wounded in an event which was intended for just that.
What a total douchebag…
